One of my favorite ways to get my house feeling like fall is to make up some fall simmering potpourri. It only takes a few minutes and really does make the house smell heavenly.

These AllNatural Simmer Pot Recipes are crazy easy and smell so much fresher than a candle!

You can simmer these homemade potpourris on the stovetop or in the slow cooker – whatever works best for you.

Just be sure you don’t let all the liquid simmer away and burn the pan!

Don’t be afraid to experiment with your simmer pot recipes.

Try different ingredients you think will smell nice – pears, apples, pinecones, dried spices – whatever you have on hand.

I like to use fruits that are too ripe to eat because I’d rather put them to good use instead of just throwing them away!

Get into the habit of saving (rather than composting) your orange peels, lemon and lime peels, apple and pear skins, and other sweet-smelling kitchen scraps.

Pop them in the freezer to keep them fresh until you’re ready to use them.
