SEATING CAPACITY | Cougar Softball Stadium holds a seating capacity of 1,200 fans, but can accommodate up to 2,000 fans with a pair of grass berm areas located along the outfield lines and a party patio on the first base side. A canopy red roof covers the upper seats, shading fans during the hot Houston months.

The campus is located in downtown Houston, and freshmen are not required to live on campus. Each year, students turn the campus into a town called Fiesta City in time for the Frontier Fiesta, a string of concerts, talent shows, cook-offs and more.

The Houston Cougars are the athletic teams representing the University of Houston. Informally, the Houston Cougars have also been referred to as the Coogs, UH, or simply Houston.

The Houston Cougars softball team is the college softball team of the University of Houston. The team is a member of the Big 12 Conference as a Division I team.

From 1947 until 1989 a live cougar mascot was used. However, from 1989 until 2012, Shasta existed as only a costumed mascot. Although a current live mascot was adopted by the university through a partnership with the Houston Zoo, costumed students portraying Shasta & Sasha are still used for game appearances.

Bender was charged with picking the team's nickname and he settled on Cougars, because of his former tie to the Washington State program. Unfortunately, Bender died in 1928, just one season after establishing the volunteer sports program at Houston.

The Crimson Tide play at Rhoads Stadium, which has an official capacity of 3,940 and claims to be the largest on-campus softball facility in the country.

The stadium has a seating capacity of 40,000 that includes 25 luxury suites and 766 club seats. It also has four party patios and two open-air suite decks. Texas Dow Employees Credit Union purchased the naming rights to the stadium in July 2014.

Approved for construction by the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents in April of 2016, the $28.6 million facility is located at the corner of Tom Chandler Drive and Penberthy Road. Davis Diamond holds 2,000 fans and includes club level seating as well as two luxury suites.

The event has been held in Oklahoma City at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium - OGE Energy Field every year since 1990, except for 1996 when it traveled to Columbus, GA.

The Women's College World Series is played at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The Sam Houston Bearkats softball team represents Sam Houston State University in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in Conference USA.
