  1. Has anyone made these with almond meal/ flour? If so, did you need to tweak at all?

  1. Loved this recipe! Here's some helpful info if you're American though: 125g of butter is roughly 1/2C plus 1T. We also don't have golden syrup here so I used 1/4C of Molasses instead. After reading the comments, I added more spice too: 1/4t each of allspice and ground cloves. Baked at 350 for 9 minutes. Perfection!

  2. The taste was amazing. I added extra spices, delicious! The dough was too soft, it might be the brands of GF flour we have in NZ. They are all such a fine consistency that they don't make dough very easily. However I just made lil round cookies since the dough was too soft for rolled out cookie cutting. I iced them as lil reindeer! So cute!

  5. This is the best Gluten Free recipe ever. That biscuit did not crumble nor did they stay undercooked and you would never know that it is Gluten Free. I would recommend this recipe to any coeliacs and to people trying to find a good Gluten Free ginger bread recipe.

Tweaks

  1. I used 2 cups of G Free Self Raising flour instead of plain all purpose flour and baking powder and bicarb soda. I also added 1/2 teaspoon of mixed spice and only 1/4 cup of dark brown sugar.

  2. This recipe is great overall, however it is a nice touch to add a half teaspoon more cinnamon, one teaspoon more ginger powder and a teaspoon of nutmeg just to add a little more flavour!
