Hi everyone! And welcome back to our YouTube Channel, The Millennial, Duo., Today, Nishant and I are going for a very important appointment from Leeds to Bradford.

So.

We did a bit of research, asked a few people, and we realised that the best way to go is by train.

Right now.

We are at the Leeds Train Station.

The ticket we have got for Leeds--Bradford is the Duo ticket.

Two people can travel on this ticket and the round trip ticket costs.

10 pounds.

This train takes 25 minutes to reach the destination.

Now.

Let me tell you exactly why we are are going.

My passport is about to expire and we have to get it.

Renewed.

I went online and did some research.

I found out that there are many centres in the UK where Indians can get their passport.

Renewed.

The High Commission is in London and there are two consulates in Birmingham and Scotland.

Each of these have VFS centres which do the document processing for them.

Because.

We live in Leeds and our nearest centre is Bradford.

We can make this trip in a day without staying overnight.

That's.

Why we selected Bradford.

So.

Now we are off.

It's, quite cold and foggy today.

After many days, today.

Our train arrived on time and we have already boarded it.

We will move soon., As I mentioned before.

It will take 25 minutes to arrive.

The closest train station to the Bradford VFS office is Bradford, Forster Square.

If, you are international student or an Indian working in Leeds.

This will be the closest centre for you.

Now I will tell you what the entire passport renewal process is.

You can renew you Indian passport anytime, a year before it expires.

For example.

If your passport will expire in June 2023, you can apply for renewal any time after June.

2022.

I did not get time for this back in India, as we had to apply for the UK visa and submit the passport.

But I had checked in India itself that it is quite easy to renew your passport in the UK.

Obviously.

It costs a little more, but it's quite convenient.

The first thing to do is to fill up the form.

Online.

The Ministry of External Affairs has a separate portal here.

(Link in description).

You have to create an account on this portal and fill up the application form for passport renewal.

Make sure all the details are correct here: You can choose among many options--renewal, address, change, marital status, change, name change, etc.

After.

Choosing the option, I filled up the form, which is quite a long form.

After filling up the form.

The next step is to take a VFS appointment., For this.

You have to do to the VFS portal.

If.

You are in the UK and type VFS into Google.

You will automatically be taken to the UK portal.

You can book an appointment on the VFS portal.

Only after filling up the application, form.

So you just have to go on the VFS portal and choose the centre and appointment slot Then.

You just need to save and print it.

An important document on the VFS, as well as External Affairs Ministry website is the checklist.

Make sure to download the checklist (link in description).

As it mentions everything you will need.

Normally.

You would not know about any extra documents you might require.

But.

This checklist will show you an document names, Annexure E, which basically declares why you are applying from the UK.

There is a VFS declaration as well, and all the other documents are mentioned in the checklist.

You have to take prints or photocopies of all the documents.

Because I am a student.

Getting printouts from the library is the most convenient.

So.

If you are in international student, your university library will most likely have this facility.

You can use your student card to take prints from the library for a much cheaper, price.

At, my uni, I paid 4 pence for a single-sided black and white print.

This is the most convenient way as you can simply recharge.

Your student ID You tap it on the printer and it pulls up the relevant documents and information.

I would suggest that if you have access to a library, use that for taking cheap prints and photocopies.

It is pretty cold today, about 1 degree.

Celsius.

It is also quite foggy.

Today, which is a bit rare here.

I feel.

We haven't seen too much fog here compared to what we see back in Delhi But.

We are a little bit excited today, as we got a chance to go to a different place due to the passport.

Appointment.

We were very busy with work and study.

Since many weeks.

On weekends also.

We only get time to walk around Leeds and do a bit of shopping.

So.

Today we were quite happy that we got a chance to visit Bradford and make a whole day out of it.

We can go a little far in a train, today, and step out of the city centre.

And.

We have also heard that Bradford has some great places to eat.

At.

There many great options to choose: from.

Hopefully.

We will be free by lunch time and enjoy a nice meal in Bradford, today! The train took only 25 min to reach Bradford.

You can see that the fog has totally cleared up and it is so sunny now that I can barely open my eyes! But.

We arrived right on time at the Bradford Forster Square station.

We, checked on Google maps, and it shows an 8-minute walk to the VFS office.

So we will just walk now.

The best part is that the sun is fully shining now, which means it might be a great day.

Today.

The VFS office is pretty close to the Bradford Forster Square station.

It is right.

Behind me.

The building is called Skipton Chambers.

We have arrived a bit early for our appointment.

We will just go and enquire if we have to wait.

Video recording is not allowed inside VFS, so we did not shoot.

Inside.

The Bradford VFS office is pretty small, with a staff of only two people.

But.

Our overall experience was pretty great, as we got done quite quickly.

Now that we are done.

Obviously we started getting hungry! We thought of getting lunch somewhere, nearby.

We started walking and looking for a good restaurant.

We spotted something cool.

While walking.

We found this footpath cleaning vacuum machine, quite interesting! We checked on Google and found a restaurant named Taqdir, which is right near the station and has very good reviews.

We thought we should try it out.

So, let's see if the food is as good as the reviews.

We have ordered seekh kebab for starters, because we had been craving for it.

Hopefully, it is going to be good.

And.

We ordered lamb, biryani and chicken jalfrezi I am quite sure.

It is too much for us! But.

We could not resist as we have got this much variety of non-vegetarian, Indian food after so long.

We just took two minutes to finish.

The kebabs.

We got hot, freshly-made seekh kebab after so many days! And, a mint chutney and salad on the side.....amazing! We had come to Bradford on a very important errand.

But thankfully we found this amazing restaurant called Takdir.

It is right in front of the Bradford Foster Square train, station.

And.

This is the chef and managing director of the restaurant, Mr Mahir Ali.

His hospitality, as well as cooking, are so good that we had a great time.

So.

And.

We will definitely recommend everyone visiting or staying in Bradford to come to.

Takdir.

It is quite an elaborate menu with a lot of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

So, we are done with the work we came for and also had a great lunch at Takdir, which we just showed you.

Overall.

We had a great day, specially with the sun out.

Now, we are heading back to Leeds., We had purchased the ticket in the morning, itself.

Now.

We just need to board the train and head back.
