Did you know that you don’t have to just use Tilapia for this recipe?

If you have a favorite fish that you prefer, it will work well for it, too! Salmon, tuna, even ground mullet, or fresh water catfish would taste just as good as the tilapia in this Clean Eating Tilapia Recipe.

The only thing that might not work well is a soft fish like white trout. However, if you try it, I would love to hear how it goes. Personally, I find that the softer fish, like white trout, tends to fall about. So, you may not get an intact fillet if you go with that fish. We both know that it doesn’t have to be pretty to be yummy, though.

What toppings can I put on tilapia fish?

You can keep it as simple as you want! This white fish does a great job of taking flavors, so keep that in mind. Adding olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper is one great topping idea.

If you want some spice, add chili powder to this mild fish. Don’t forget to put some lemon wedges on the plate and top them with fresh parsley!

You can also squeeze fresh lime juice on top and add some slices of sweet red onion. There are so many ways to change the taste of paleo fish recipes, so have fun doing it!

What easy recipes make great side dishes for fish?

Since this is a low carb recipe, go for low carb side dishes. Cauliflower rice is low in net carbs and high in flavor, so that is always a great choice.

Yellow squash is another of my favorite recipes and a great way to make a healthy dinner.

How do I store leftover tilapia?

The biggest thing that you need to remember is to let the fish cool down before storing it in an airtight container. This is the best way to keep it fresh. You will want to reheat and eat the next day for the best flavor.

Be sure to heat it all the way through so it’s safe to eat.

Do I have to Use Fish?

You could even use this mixture of spices on a chicken breast – yes, seriously!

You will need to bake a 4 oz. chicken breast for approximate 25-30 minutes.

You need to use a meat thermometer to be sure the internal temperature (on the thickest part of the chicken) is 165 degrees F to kill any bacteria.

*Note: unfortunately, I used foil instead of parchment paper the first time I made this. The fish stuck to the foil pretty badly! Of course, that made a huge mess. The next time, I used parchment paper with zero problems. Take my advice and learn from my mistakes. Do not skimp! Aluminum foil will not work for this recipe.

*This Clean Eating Tilapia Recipe is pretty spicy as directed…cut back on spices for less daring taste buds.I love to add a little onion powder, salt, pepper, and lemon juice to tilapia fillets for an easy lunch.
